Interview with Paramount Healthcare

Paramount Healthcare Centers is an ApplicantStack customer in the healthcare industry. Recently I sat down with Maria Robinson of Paramount Healthcare for an interview about their implementation of ApplicantStack. The following is a transcript of the interview.
Can you tell me a little more about Paramount Healthcare Centers?
Paramount is the home office to 12 healthcare facilities providing long term care in the State of Texas including Austin, San Antonio and Houston. We will be adding an additional 2 facilities in the near future. We take great pride in our facilities and strive to provide the best service we can.
Maria, what is your role at Paramount?
I am the Human Resource Representative responsible to posting and managing all jobs and keeping the posting up to date on job boards, etc. In addition, I screen the applicants and forward them to multiple facilities for their review and feedback.
What were the recruiting challenges that led you to the decision to search for an applicant tracking system?
Before we had an applicant tracking system, all of our recruiting and hiring processes were completely manual. Â Applicants had to come to one of our individual facilities and complete a paper application. We were using local newspapers to advertise our positions which was not producing enough candidates
What kinds of jobs do you recruit for?
We mainly recruit Registered, Licensed, Certified nurses and Medical Aids. However we are also using ApplicantStack to hire all other non-medical related jobs as well.
Any particular places you post your jobs now?
We automatically post to the free job boards Indeed and SimplyHired through ApplicantStack. We also have an account with Monster and will be using the new functionality to automatically post selective positions to Monster.
What criteria were important to you when you were evaluating applicant tracking systems?
We needed a system that was user friendly and would help us to advertise our jobs in more places. We needed an automated way to post jobs, manage applicants and forward qualified candidates to all of our facilities throughout the State.
How has your process improved since you started using ApplicantStack?
We now receive a lot more qualified candidates in the door from all over the state in one centralized location and are able to distribute them more quickly to the appropriate facilities for review. The system is a terrific time saver. The online application process has made it much simpler for applicants to apply.
What would your response be to someone who asked you about using ApplicantStack?
Absolutely user-friendly! ApplicantStack is a great system to get our jobs published and get applicants in the door. Very helpful to us and has improved the applicants experience as well.
My final question, just for fun…..If you could have any other job in the world, other than the one you have now, what would you want to do?
I would like to have any job that requires travel. I would like to travel the world-especially Europe!
